Month: March 2016

Without God’s permission, nothing can be done by me.

G.G.Narke. Do not blame me for not giving you a Kupni. “That Fakir” (God) has not permitted me.

Hallo. Do I demand dakshina of every one ? I demand only from those whom “The Fakir” points out to me.

I do nothing. I receive nothing. Datta calls for his own. He had called for Rs.15 his due and given it to Masudi Ayi. So, the money has been received (by me).

If Gods, like Datta, are easily accessible on the way and if one does not take darshan of them how can I help him?

Baba is but a Phaladata; you must do good.

Baba: If you do good and surrendered it to God, good will come to you. God the Lord of them that do good. Both wicked and virtuous want good things from me? How (or whence) can I give? (i.e. If they have not put forward the good karma warranting the gift)

I am the Progenitor of God. Mediate on me as pure Ananada Nirakara : but if you cannot do so, meditate on this this Sai Body eaxtly as it is.

I am not the body or the senses. I am the sakshi, witness of all these.

I do nothing. I receive nothing.

Baba’s Leelas after 1918 – Baba Fulfilled the Vision of the Head Clerk C.C S Office

Baba Fulfilled the Vision of the Head Clerk C.C S Office,

For over 48 days I went on with Puja of Shri Sai Baba and I have had many experiences.

(1) My son Sundararajan had typhoid. Medicines did not help. I prayed to Shri Sai Baba when the case looked helpless. Baba’s grace saved my son.

(2) My six years old boy was suffering for a month from diarhoea and there was swelling all over the body. I did not care to give him medicine and relied on Baba’s grace. He was cured by Baba’s grace.

(3) My five year old boy saw on old person entering into my puja room one evening but no one was found there. He told me his vision. I feel that Baba was present there.

(4) My cousin, a 17 year old young lady remained as a Spinster for four years. Her father was looking for a groom. I prayed to Baba on 1-6-1939 for his blessing. On 7-6-1939 she was married.

(5) A lady Avayambal who resided with her husband at Kiranur had her disagreement with her agreement. She came away to Palakarai and stayed here for a month. She was anxious that her husband should go over here and take her back. I made her spend Rs. 6/-on a gold plate and wrote on it “Shri Sai Baba Raksha”. I daily worshipped that plate. In a week from the starting of chat Puja, the husband came and took her away. The husband said that one old person had appeared and direct to him to take back his wife.

Surrender Shri Sai Completely I Stupendous Delectation and Deliverance be there !!

Blessed Devotee who Experienced Baba’s Miracle before 1918

It is not these coins I want from you

Repeatedly Baba asked Purandare for rupees two as dakshina. Purandare went to see Baba often out of the deep love and regard he felt for Him. Every time Baba asked for rupees two nothing more or nothing less.

Curious about this Purandare asked Baba about it, Baba replied, “It is not these coins I want from you. I want Nishta (concentrated faith) and Saburi (joyous patience)”,Purandare replied that he had given all his faith to Baba and was patiently awaiting progress. Baba told him to keep up his faith unfailingly and to be strict and anxious to fulfill all the promises he had made.

Further Baba said, “You should have truth always wifh you. Then I will be always with you wherever you are and at all times.” Humbly, Purandare promised to try his best and entreated Baba’s help for controlling his mind.

Sai Devotee Doctor Couple’s Splendid Sai Seva

service to mankind is service to god

Sai Devotee Doctor Couple’s Splendid Sai Seva

We often meet people who say ‘I am a devotee of this God or that Guru’. But, how many of them understand the implication of being a devotee or disciple?

One, who lives by the tenet of his God’s or Guru’s teachings, reflects his surrender and discipleship. Following a Guru’s teachings is the true discipleship. (Shri Sai Satcharita, chap. 23, verse 172, 189) One such true devotee of Sai Baba is Dr. Amol Pitale, resident of Vile Parle, Mumbai and a member of Gurusthan Trust.

Chapter 32 of Shri Sai Satcharita states the body which is completely given to the service of others has truly served the purpose for which it was created. According to this teaching Dr. Pitale is truly serving others for a decade by rendering free medical service to pilgrims walking from various places to Shirdi. He provides medical service to the pilgrims from Nasik to Shirdi from Gudipadva to Ramnavami. In this service he is supported by his wife Dr. Anita, his sister Dr. Shraddha, and sister’s husband Dr. Ujjwal Bhure and mother Shaila Pitale. In these eight days while going from one group of pilgrims to another, he travels an estimated 4,500 km.

After learning about Dr. Pitale from renowned Singer Anupama Deshpande, we decided to meet him. After fixing an appointment with him we headed for his residence at Vile Parle. We were elated to meet a family which was blissfully drenched in Sai devotion. The most touching sight at their residence was the two and half feet brass statue of Baba in the hall. This statue was sculpted by Dr. Pitale’s father Late Manohar Pitale. While the sublimely smiling statue of Baba was holding our attention, Dr. Pitale’s one year four month old, Nishtha came running into the room. We were touched by not only the devotion of all the adults in the family, but also the tiny tot, who chanting ‘Baba… Baba’ was busy lighting the lamps in front of Baba.

Dr. Pitale said, “Nishtha is devoted to Baba, every morning when she wakes up, she comes to the hall, and ask us to lift her, then she kisses Baba. When we do Pooja, since she can’t say Aarati, she simply chants ‘Baba… Baba’.”

Dr. Pitale then showed us a photo. We were shocked and the first thought to cross our mind was, ‘Is this possible?’ This was a photograph, where Nishtha was giving a kiss to Baba and it looked Baba too was responding to her. Actually, in the statue Baba’s lips are closed; but in the photo they are together as if about to kiss.

While recalling the incident Dr. Pitale said, “It was her first birthday, as usual I lifted Nishtha in my arm and she kissed Baba, in that moment the picture was taken. That day we didn’t notice anything unusual, nor did we when the photo prints came and we hung it in the hall. It was only when a friend of mine who was visiting us, brought it to our notice.”

Dr. Pitale while stating this was feeling overwhelmed. He added, “Shri Sai has blessed five generations of the Pitale family, and this is a clear sign of it.” We asked, “Five generations?”

Dr. Pitale explained, “Yes. Nishtha is the fifth generation of the Pitale family to be blessed by Baba. My great grandfather Late Vishnupant Pitale had the privilege of taking Baba’s Darshan in 1916. In that first Darshan Baba’s love attracted my great grandfather. That time my great grandfather took a picture of Baba and gave it in Dwarkamai, which was blessed by Baba. Even today that picture is with us. From that day to this day Baba is with our family, and we are experiencing His blessings bestowed on us.”

When queried, “How did you think of providing free medical facilities to the pilgrims?” He replied, “In 2001, my father had asked Baba for something (vow), when the request was fulfilled, he promised to come to Shirdi.

“His wish was fulfilled; so we left for Shirdi the next day, and it was Gudi Padva. We had also taken with us first aid box and some medicines. We had halted our vehicle near Bhiwandi Bypass for a while. We saw Shraddha Saburi Mandal’s Sai Palkhi (palanquin carrying Sai Baba’s picture), they too had halted. We saw a boy vomiting; he too also had pain in his stomach. My father asked him if he needed any help, he told my father to meet the Mandal’s chairman. At the same time the chairman was coming towards them. When my father said that my son is a doctor and do you want any help, the chairman said, ‘You have arrived like God in this moment of distress, there are 25-30 pilgrims who are unwell.’

“We treated them with our medicines and moved ahead. On the way we spoke to 2-3 more Mandals, and while treating the pilgrims, the medicines, we were carrying got exhausted. We bought some medicines in Nasik and treated a few more pilgrims. We reached Shirdi, took Baba’s Darshan and returned to Mumbai. My father took a decision that from Gudi Padva to Ramnavami, eight days in all we will provide free medical services to the pilgrims on the way to Shirdi; and from that day to this day, the services are provided every year without a hitch.”

When queried, “Where do you get the necessary fund for this?” He replied, “Initially, we spent approximately Rs. 25,000 on the medicines. Under this building the Sai temple, that you see was constructed by my father. The money from the donation box was collected once a year and that would help us buy the requisite amount of medicines. But, as the years rolled by, the number of pilgrims increased and the total cost of the medicines spiralled, this year it is Rs.4,42,614 (if we were to consider the retail price, the cost will be higher). As our service increased, so did the help; today, the pharmaceutical companies help us with the medicines. Besides, the Gurusthan Trust of this Sai temple also bears a part of the cost. There are some generous donors who support us whole heartedly. We have never experienced a lack, with Baba’s grace, somehow or the other help has always come. Initially our group had 14 people in this voluntary service, now we have 72. This is all Baba’s Leela.”

Again we enquired, “In eight days, many pilgrims were likely to feel unwell, so a large amount of medicines is required to deal with the situation. How do you manage it?”

Dr. Pitale replied, “We keep all the medicines before Sai Baba and then put Udi on them. Then we make packets of them to treat body ache, fever, loose motion and vomiting. Each packet has four dosages; some packets are handed to the chairman of the Mandals. At the moment there are 81 Palkhis in touch with us. We require about one lakh such packets. The Sai devotees are experiencing great results from these packets; so they have started calling it ‘Sai Dose’.

We enquired, “In those eight days, do you experience Baba’s Leelas?”

Dr. Pitale replied, “We experience many; but if you listen to the experiences of the Sai devotees, you will be pleasantly shocked. Once, I got a call from the chairman of the Mandal at around 12.30 p.m. asking me to treat a patient, who was shivering with very high fever. I asked him to give ‘Sai Dose’; he said all the packets were exhausted.

“At that time I was on Kasara Ghat and he was at Wasim, the distance was too much. The chairman of the Mandal said, ‘Let me see what I can do.’ The chairman at that time, had tablets of Gelusil (one given for acidity), he took it, kept it in front of the Palkhi, applied Udi to it and gave it to the patient, in no time the patient’s fever subsided and the next day, he was ready to walk!

“There are times when the condition of the patient is critical and he has to be hospitalized; but ‘Sai Dose’ is enough to treat the patient, isn’t it Baba’s Leela?

“Once, a 62-years old man who walked to Shirdi every year, met us at our Igatpuri camp. His legs were operated upon and screws were fitted on them. One of the screws had come off and there was pus formation. I gave him a T.T. injection and told him that he needs to get the screw fitted and asked him to return home. He didn’t listen to me and started arguing, ‘I am on my pilgrimage to Shirdi. I can’t leave it half way. Treat me if you wish, before I leave’. I beseeched him that he had a grave health hazard and he should return home. To this, he responded slightly with anger, ‘If you want to treat me, please do it. Otherwise, even if all the three screws come out, I will continue my journey to Shirdi.’

“I saluted his Sai devotion and dressed his wounds. His dressing took about 30 minutes. This will give you an idea of the extent of his wound the pus formation. For the next three days I went to all the places where he was journeying and dressed his wounds. And, the most astonishing thing was, on the third day, the pus had totally disappeared from his wound. He Reached Shirdi, had Baba’s Darshan and returned to Mumbai, he sought surgical attention and his leg is fine; we met him this year in the pilgrimage.

“Once, some devotees brought a patient to our medical camp. I asked what had happened, they said, ‘This man has been hit by a running truck and the impact was such that the headlight of the truck broke.’ But, when I examined the patient, he had minor scratches on his back!

“The Mandals who get to hear of us have come and voluntarily helped us. One came and gave us a generator, some others donate food packets and water bottles, and some give voluntary service, like in helping fill medicines in the packets, etc. This is the service that Baba has asked us to do, it is so touching to meet these kind souls. Some devotees from these Mandals now are a part of our extended family, and they keep in touch with us round the year.

“Once, when my father was ill, he needed 2-3 bottles of blood. When I called one Sai devotee, 27 devotees came forward to donate blood!

“By giving medical assistance we feel very happy and satisfied. Every year people go on vacation and return with renewed vigour. For us those eight days rejuvenate us, we get energy for the entire one year, other than this we do not go for any outings in the year.

“In 2005 my Dr. Ujjwal had gone to Switzerland for some study. Hence, we were finding ourselves short of one doctor. With this niggling thought we left for Seva; but the next day, Dr. Ujjwal joined us in this trip! My sister had taken a loan for his travel, the moment we completed the camp he returned to Switzerland. The satisfaction we get while serving is incomparable to anything and it seems like Baba’s doing to get this done by us.

“Even my wife’s parents are blessed by Baba. Her mother’s great grandfather is the same Harishchandra Pitale, to whom Baba had given the blessed two rupees, which are still with the family.

“Let Baba forever bless us all. Let Him get the service done through us, this is the only earnest prayer at His Feet.”

Guruvaar Prarthna

Our Beloved Sadguru Sainath, please accept our humble prayers on this Holy Day of Guruvaar. Baba, all are so busy changing conditions and circumstances that they have no time to change themselves. Our life is constantly subject to fluctuations and changes, getting sad, happy, elated, grieved, depressed, disappointed, thrilled, excited and swayed by one thing or another. As long as we are moved by these attachments, our chances of seeking Your Light are very weak. Baba, please help us to change ourselves to be eligible to reach You and rest at Your Lotus Feet. On this holy day we start our prayers by reading your divine guidance in Shri Sai Samartha Satcharitra.

I know the state of your mind at the time of taking the vow and about your self-imposed punishment for the postponement. Though you have kept it a secret, I have come to understand it all.

Any one of you, wherever you are, whenever you come to me, with your hand outstretched, with devotion, I am there to respond to your faith, day and night.

Though I am bodily present at this place and you may be beyond the seven seas, and doing anything there, I am aware of it immediately.

You may go anywhere on the face of this earth, I am always with you. I reside in your heart and I am within you.

You should always bow down to that ME who thus resides in your heart. I am also the same ME who resides in the hearts of all beings.

Therefore, whomsoever you come across, at home, outside or anywhere in the course of life, I am within them and I am myself present in them.

All living creatures – insects, ants, creatures of the water and the sky, dogs and pigs – I am always present within them. I am in all and everywhere.

Do not keep at a distance from me. There is no difference between you and ME. Whosoever regards ME in this way, he is indeed fortunate.”

I bow down to Sree Ganesh

I bow down to Sree Saraswati

I bow down to the Guru

I bow down to the Family Deity

I bow down to Sree Sita-Ramachandra

I bow down to Sree Sadguru Sainath.

What is Egoism?

What is Egoism?

Sai Baba took away my egoism” – Shri Sai Satcharitra, Ch. 3.

The Prime Minister of the Tang Dynasty was a national hero for his success as both a statesman and military leader. But despite his fame, power, and wealth, he considered himself a humble and devout Buddhist. Often he visited his favorite Zen master to study under him, and they seemed to get along very well. The fact that he was prime minister apparently had no effect on their relationship, which seemed to be simply one of a revered master and respectful student.

One day, during his usual visit, the Prime Minister asked the master, “Your Reverence, what is egotism according to Buddhism?” The master’s face turned red, and in a very condescending and insulting tone of voice, he shot back, “What kind of stupid question is that!?”

This unexpected response so shocked the Prime Minister that he became sullen and angry. The Zen master then smiled and said, “THIS, Your Excellency, is egotism.”

When I was in Indore on my official duties, one day my Client’s Mother expired at an old age and I had to attend the funeral rites.

My client has Two sisters, one stationed at Ratlam, and the other in Bombay. Immediately he got in touch with his sister in Ratlam and they could reach quickly, as it is a very near place from Indore.

The other sister residing at Bombay, was also contacted on telephone but unfornunately he got a message that all of them had gone to Shirdi for Baba’s darshan and were expected after a couple of days. Since, there were no hopes of contacting them at Shirdi, they were planning for the funeral rites.

At about 11.00 a.m. when everything was ready, suddenly an auto-rikshaw reached the house, in which the eldest daughter of the old lady, her husband and children were there.

It was great shock for the family that arrived from Shirdi, who were not expected to see the face of the old lady. This was big surprise for the big gathering.

You know who has done this big follow-up? It is none else than our Lord Sainath from the Samadhi at Shirdi.

I had made enquiries with the eldest daughter of the old lady who died, as to how they could drop in at Indore. She said that after compleating Baba’s darshan at Shirdi, they were planning to return to Bombay, but she had a vision of Lord Sai Baba, who had directed her to go to Indore, to see her ailing mother, as they were half the way to Indore.

All the families of Indore, Ratlam and Bombay are the devotees of Lord Sai and they were very grateful to Baba for his good turn.

So devotees of Baba, please note that our Lord Sainath is still alive and from the Samadhi at Shirdi, he performs all these miracles.

People say that Baba averted Tatya’s death by giving his own life. He alone knows the truth.” – Shri Sai Samarth Satcharita, Ch. 42, Ovi 68.

Two travelling angels stopped to spend the night in the home of a wealthy family. The family was rude and refused to let the angels stay in the mansion’s guest room. Instead the angels were given a small space in the cold basement. As they made their bed on the hard floor, the older angel saw a hole in the wall and repaired it. When the younger angel asked why, the older angel replied, “Things aren’t always what they seem.”

The next night the pair came to rest at the house of a very poor, but very hospitable farmer and his wife. After sharing what little food they had the couple let the angels sleep in their bed where they could have a good night’s rest. When the sun came up the next morning the angels found the farmer and his wife in tears. Their only cow, whose milk had been their sole income, lay dead in the field. The younger angel was infuriated and asked the older angel how could you have let this happen? The first man had everything, yet you helped him, she accused. The second family had little but was willing to share everything, and you let the cow die.

“Things aren’t always what they seem,” the older angel replied. “When we stayed in the basement of the mansion, I noticed there was gold stored in that hole in the wall. Since the owner was so obsessed with greed and unwilling to share his good fortune, I sealed the wall so he wouldn’t find it.”

“Then last night as we slept in the farmer’s bed, the angel of death came for his wife. I gave him the cow instead. Things aren’t always what they seem.”

Sometimes that is exactly what happens when things don’t turn out the way they should. If you have faith, you just need to trust that every outcome is always to your advantage. You might not know it until some time later…

Baba’s Gift – SAI KRIPA

Baba’s Gift – SAI KRIPA

Almighty is unbounded by the limitations of time and space. My Lord God ”Saibaba” is sovereign among the sovereigns of the supra-sensory universe. Since last two decades, by the day-to-day experiences, all the Sai devotees know that Baba is an Avatar (Incarnation) of Lord Shiv as well as of Lord Krishna. A transcendental personality, he incarnated himself in this mortal world to unfold by his matchless divine energy and unfathomed spiritual perfection, the supremacy of the supreme soul.

I would like to mention a few incidents of miracles observed by myself, which have the place in my life, on spiritual plane. No doubt, my ‘Sai’ cannot be personified, cannot be given shape. He is always in the form of supreme consciousness, which manifests in the form of light.

I had no second child for quite some time after my first-born son. Six to seven years have lapsed since his birth. We were eager to have another child, naturally, being young and enthusiastic about happy family life. The mother instinct in my wife became overwhelming and she became anxious to have another child. In those days of utter helplessness, none unveiled the curtain of divine plane and bestowed the divine grace, both of us prayed to various Gods and Goddesses, whom we knew or heard for fulfillment of our wish of begetting another child; but it was all in vain for many months.

In the meanwhile, my mother and myself went to Shirdi. My mother being more pious and religious and willing to accept any suggestions for the fulfillment of her wishes, prayed to ‘Baba’ with deep faith, for her second grand-child-male or female -whatever Baba wishes. And Lo! You may not believe! After returning from Shirdi, within a few weeks I got the good news from my wife, who bashfully told me that she was in a family way! But you can imagine the joy with which I heard the words. At last, Baba had heard the prayers and I was in ecstasy.

In due course, my wife delivered a bonny child. That was a daughter. We all were extremely joyous and did not forget to name the daughter as we had decided. We had declared that if a baby boy is born, we would name him as “Sai-Prasad”, to be called “Prasad”, and if a girl is born, she would be-called “Sai-Kripa” in short, “Kripa”- So we named our dear daughter as “Kripa”, and went to Shirdi at the first opportunity, for placing the baby at the feet of the, Revered Sai Baba, even though the child was only 5-6 months old.

It would be a matter of surprise that even though normally the first syllables uttered by all children are ‘Aai’ or Mummy, my daughter started her language with the sacred name of ‘Baba’ on her tender lips. When we heard these sacred syllables on her lips for the first time, there, remained on doubt that even this young soul recognizes her benefactor in the divine planes! This proves that the rays of the blessings of Sai-my holy Lord and God-are radiating in all directions, crossing the barriers of time and space,

My baby “Kripa” always points out at Shri Baba’s photo whenever we ask her “Where is Baba?”. Even at the residences or our relatives or neighbours, whenever she sees the Photo of Sai-Baba, she mutely points out at the photo, suggesting as if, “Look here! My Baba calls me!”

As usual, I once again pray at the lotus feet of Shri Satchidanand Sadguru Sai Baba to shower His choicest blessings on each one of us for continued prosperity, peace, contentment, good health and happiness.

Vijay D. Hajare, Bombay 66

The two incidents, in my life, which I narrate below are not only unforgettable & unbelievable, but are also absolutely true !

The first incident: Relates to my health or rather want of it. In the year 1975,1 was affected with Diarrhea and dehydration and was, consequently, bed-ridden for a long time. That prolonged illness and agony caused a lot of incon

venience and severe weakness. Everything was upset and disturbed. The whole family life was thrown out of gear, as it was. Although, I was treated, by a number of eminent doctors, they were of no avail, as none of the doctors could diagnose, the actual ailment. My suffering continued, unabated, for more than forty days. I am accustomed to pray Baba, every day and night, from the year 1956, regularly. One day, I had feeling as to how could Baba test me, for so many days. I grew rather desperate and on that particular night, before going to bed, I prayed Baba very earnestly and in all humility, as follows :—

“Baba, if you are convinced and satisfied that I am your staunch and sincere devotee, don’t trouble me and test me any further. I had enough of suffering. Kindly forgive all my sins, if at all, I have committed and help me and cure my disease”. Unbelievable, though it may seem to be, a Sadhu appeared in my dream, that night and offered Thirth to me. On the very next morning, I was astonished to see that I was able to walk, on my own, which I could not do, for more than forty days and within another three or four days, I started attending to my normal duties, including my office work.

The second incident: Relates to my life or rather escape from death. It was, after Sej Harathi at our Nallagutta temple, on a certain Thursday! was returning to my home, at Prend-herghast Road, where I was living then, on my Bajaj Scooter (150 cc old model). Suddenly an old man, who appeared to be drunk, blocked my way and therefore, I was forced to take a turn and went home, in a different route, which was straight. At the end of the journey, after taking a turn I entered my compound. Suddenly the scooter got automatically locked up and I fell down. Fortunately, I escaped, with minor injuries. Had that old person not prevented me, in the beginning itself, I would have gone along the first route and my scooter would have got automatically locked up, in one of the many turns, when I would have been going at a considerable speed. Just, imagine what would have been my fate !

In both, the above incidents, I am fully convinced that it is HE, who saved me and my life. Whatever I am now and my family is today, it is only because of the mercy and grace of my god Baba. That is the reason, why I see all the “MUKKOTIDEVATHALU” in and through Baba & Baba alone !
